Wow cant believe it has been a year since the last post.   Got our Northern California rating this month for Pacific Cup  PHRF 105 and DW 580  pretty much where I thought we would be, no surprises.  

In preparation for Pacific Cup we bought a new S2, S4, S6 and Jim McCone long time crew member and friend pitched in with a new A3.   To go along with those nice new chutes CSR Marine cut us a smoking deal on a carbon fiber spinnaker pole they had in the yard.  

The other major upgrade is a new semi-balanced rudder designed by Paul Bieker and manufactured by the guys at Phil's Foils.  We found out right away that downwind with the old rudder responsiveness was a big issue.  Overwhelming consensus that we needed more control for safety. As you can see from the pictures very little difference in the wetted surface before and after, we used the existing stainless steel shaft so very little if any change in weight.
